Arts Advocacy Day

Thursday, February 9, 2017 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Location: Lincoln
Description: Arts Advocacy Day is the one day each year that arts advocates, organization leaders and patrons come together to speak with Nebraska legislators about the importance of supporting the arts and arts education in our state. This year will also include expanded programming following the breakfast.

Arts Advocacy Breakfast
8:15-9:30 a.m.
State Capitol Building
Advocate for the arts and visit with your state senators over coffee and pastries.

Using Data to Make Your Case for the Arts - Panel Presentation
10:00-11:15 a.m.
Nebraska State Office Building
Data can help you tell policymakers, donors and patrons about your organization’s impact on the community, but it's not always easy to find and use data in the most effective way. Join representatives from WESTAF and other arts organizations as they demonstrate ways to find and use the data you need.

Tools for Supporting Arts & Creative Industries - Lunch n' Learn
Noon-1:00 p.m.
Nonprofit Hub, 14th & P Streets
Learn about the technology WESTAF (Western States Arts Federation) has to support your creative projects, including systems that effectively manage public art projects, residencies, exhibitions, arts shows, festivals and fairs. Also learn about Independent Music on Tour (IMTour), a pilot program for Front Range musicians and nonprofit presenters.

Registration is $15 and covers the cost of the continental breakfast and refreshments. All are welcome to attend!
